The NMSU Department of Art is proud to announce that Yalet Yanar, BFA ’25, has been accepted into the New York Academy of Art’s Undergraduate Residency program. This highly competitive, month-long intensive in New York City provides emerging artists with the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the study and practice of painting, drawing, and sculpture.
As part of the Summer 2026 residency, Yalet will receive a dedicated studio space, individualized mentorship from accomplished faculty and professional artists, and access to a vibrant artistic community. The program also includes curated museum visits, offering direct engagement with significant works of art, as well as housing in New York City, allowing participants to focus entirely on their creative development in one of the world’s leading cultural centers.
