Georgina Trevino- Visiting Artist Lecture Thursday, September 18 at 6pm MST

 

Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series: Georgina Treviño 

 

Multidisciplinary artist, jeweler and educator, Georgina Treviño, will be offering a lecture on Thursday, September 18 at 6pm MST at Devasthali Hall at the bleachers. This event will also be broadcast via zoom: https://linktr.ee/NMSU_VAS (registration required). All events are free and open to the NMSU community and the public. This event is organized by the Visiting Artist Committee, sponsored by the NMSU Department of Art and the University Art Museum, and paid for by the Lilian Steinman Fund.  

  

About the Artist:  Georgina Treviño is from Tijuana, Mexico and is currently based in San Diego, California. She earned a BA in Applied Design with an emphasis in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from San Diego State University in 2014. 

Treviño’s work has been featured in publications including The Los Angeles Times, Elle, Vogue, Purple Magazine, and various book anthologies. She has collaborated with high-profile celebrities such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, Rosalía, Bella Hadid, Lizzo, Doja Cat, and Kali Uchis. Her brand collaborations include Nike, E.l.f. Cosmetics, Bimba y Lola, Converse, Guess, and Spotify. 

Her work has been part of several national & international exhibitions including Mingei Museum (San Diego, 2024), Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (2024), Art, Design & Architecture Museum at UC Santa Barbara (2025), OBJECT USA with R & Company (2025), Museum JAN in Amsterdam (2023), Racine Art Museum (WI, 2015 & 2023), EMBAJADA (San Juan, 2023), Veta Galería (Madrid, 2023), Museum of Arts and Design (New York, 2021), NADA Fair (Miami, 2023 & 2024), MATERIAL Fair (Mexico City, 2023–2025), and Schmuck (Munich, 2015).
