Megan Metcalf's summer research trip

Dr. Metcalf, who just completed her first year at NMSU, received a seed grant from the College, which enabled her to travel to Europe, to the Venice Biennale, France and to Switzerland in Summer 2024, meeting with performance artists and curators in developing her ground-breaking research on the conservation and preservation of dance in museum collections. There she gave a presentation at the Institut Materialität in Kunst un Kultur in Bern (Switzerland), and was a co-moderator for two panels at the Comité International d’Histoire de l’Art (Lyon, France), the former of which resulted in her being invited to speak at this year’s Performance: Conservation, Materiality, Knowledge Research Festival in Zürich, Switzerland on September 15, 2024.
