Ace, who emigrated to the USA with his family from the Philippines, is currently in the final semester of his BFA in studio art with an emphasis in ceramics. He exhibited his work, in the Spring 2024 BFA exhibition “Yours Truly, Lovingly, Viciously” in the Mullenix Gallery at Devasthali Hall. Over the summer, he worked as an assistant to artist Carolyn Salas, helping to fabricate work for her exhibition at the University Art Museum (opening Sept. 27). Thanks to a Jose Cisneros Travel Grant, Ace was able to travel for the first time out of the USA to the Venice Biennale (Venice Italy), one of the most prestigious contemporary art festivals in the world, to view the work of Philippine artist Pacita Abad among others.
