Johanna Typaldos works on summer research

Johanna Typaldos Summer research workshop

Johanna is starting her third and final year of the MFA in studio art, worked hard this summer in the Metals & Jewelry studio at Devasthali Hall, as well as assisting emeritus professor, Julia Barello. Thanks in part to the Ken Barrick award, Johanna was able to serve as an assistant to master artist, Sarah Perkins, at the Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft (Columbia, NC) for a workshop on enameling 3D objects. This Fall, she is hoping to participate in the “Repair Days” at the Metal Museum (Memphis, TN), working with master metalsmith, Preston Jackson (emeritus professor, School of the Art Institute of Chicago), to learn about working with non-traditional materials.
