NMSU Alum Gus Ramirez showcases a sneak peak into new artworks, “Solemnity’s Martyrdom," for a fellowship with New Mexico Indivisible Young Artist Fellowship.
Gus writes, "My art pries open, exposes and challenges established religious and gender structures. Through various mediums and visual approaches, I create a contemplative space where people like myself, a gender-fuck, queer, first-generation Mexican-American, who does not adhere to any part of the world's current binaries, can not only exist but be celebrated for our identity."
Gus’s artist fellowship will conclude with a show opening October 13-15 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. More information on the opening to follow.
